A strong personal branding shoot isn’t just about taking beautiful images - it’s about capturing a feeling, a personality, and a story people can connect with. As a Bristol brand photographer specialising in personal branding and fashion photography, I approach every shoot with intention, making sure everything reflects my client’s identity and work.

I recently photographed Katie, a community strategist and marketer, and her shoot is a perfect example of how a thoughtful personal branding photoshoot in Bristol can elevate a brand.

It Starts Before the Shoot

Every successful shoot begins with planning. For this session, I had a consultaion call with Katie, where we discussed her brand and the vision of the imagery. Following on I then created a full moodboard using the tool Milanote, mapping out styling, locations, and timing.

This level of creative direction and photoshoot planning means everything feels aligned before the day even starts, meaning both myself and the client have that clear communication and vision.

Story First, Always

Katie’s brand is approachable and community-focused, so everything we captured needed to feel natural and real. As a Bristol personal branding photographer, I always build the shoot around who you are - not just how things look.

Location Matters

Katie being a community strategist and marketer, it felt important to place her within the city. Using Bristol as a backdrop, we started our shoot at college green, shooting outside and within Bristol Library, stopping in at society cafe for a coffee and a tea, and rounding it up at the harbourside - helped ground her brand in a real environment.

Built for Content, Not Just One Post

With a simple outfit change and a few locations, we created a full set of content:

  • Portraits

  • Candid lifestyle shots

  • Editorial-style imagery

This is the goal of a strong content creation photoshoot - giving you images that work across your whole brand.
